BK BEAUTY BRUSHES REVIEW: Core Line Extension (109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 209, 210, 211, 212)

As part of getting to know my collection (I’m doing an un-announced 2023 no buy!), I want to spend more time reviewing all the products I have. Next up is all the newer brushes I own from BK Beauty that I got over the holidays.  I wanted to thoroughly test these products to provide a more detailed review of them which is why I waited to long, but I’ve gotten a ton of use out of them so if you have any questions I haven’t addressed, please ask in the comments! As always, thank you so much for being here, and it would mean so much to me if you subscribe here or on Instagram @liftbakelove for new posts! All links are affiliate links, but all opinions are my own, and I bought these myself.

109 Mini Contoured Foundation – This is a mini version of one of my favorite BK Brushes, the 101 Contoured Foundation brush. Like its larger counterpart, this brush is the perfect shape for so many things – concealer, bronzer, blush, highlighter, etc. Because of the angle and the shape, I can be precise with it but still blend super quickly. This is one of my favorite brushes for cream bronzer and blush in particular, and I love using the top edge for cream highlighter. The density is perfect and doesn’t “eat up” too much product. I still love the regular sized 101 brush, but this is a great counterpart for when I want something more precise of the same shape.

110 Large Concealer – This is far and away my favorite brush from the core line extension. I’m honestly considering buying an extra one day so I can keep one in rotation while the other one is drying after I clean it or so I can use one for cream products and one for powder. My favorite way to use this brush (since I only have one) is to set under my eyes and any spot concealing with powder. It really does function like the perfect mix between a brush and a sponge, and it makes any powder look better than it would’ve. It’s the perfect shape specifically for the undereye area, and it just feels really nice to use. If you only got one of these brushes, I’d pick this one (although some of the others are a very close second).

111 Dense Bronzer – This is such a perfect bronzer brush when you want something a bit smaller than some of the bigger BK brushes, like the 102, but that is still big enough to quickly apply bronzer everywhere on your face. Its tapered shape is so helpful for getting both precise application and seamless blending that looks natural. I love that this size helps me not go overboard (which I definitely can do with bronzer) while still actually imparting color. This brush also is a great blush and powder blush if you want something that covers a bit more surface area than something like the 112 (which I’ll cover next).

112 Small Angled Face Brush – While I have no regrets getting the whole extension set, this is my least used brush of the 9. Like all these brushes, it’s soft, high quality, and very effective at what it does. I just tend to use other brushes more than this one because this brush lends itself really well to a precise contour application, which is a step I frequently skip. It’s also great for powder highlighter whereas I tend to use cream highlighters more often. It also can be used for powdering under the eyes or around the nose in a pinch, but I like the 110 and 113 better for that. If you’ve been looking for a small angled brush though, this one is great for what it is.

113 Small Flat Powder Brush – Similar to the 110, this is such a great brush for pressing in powder. It’s the perfect size for precise powder placement, and the flat side really presses in powder products so well. The top and other side of the brush work really well for powder blush and highlighter, which makes it a little more versatile than the 110. I think it’s a bit too small for bronzer, but it does work really well for precise contour placement. I still have used the 110 more often, but I do love how I can use the 113 for a variety of blending in powders on my whole face.

209 Mini Shader Brush – I love how small yet effective this brush is. It’s the perfect size to get a precise placement in the outer or inner corner of the eye. Its dense, firm bristles are perfect for packing on color and laying down eyeshadow so you get the impact you want. It’s also perfect for lining the bottom lash line or even the top lash line because the top is tapered. Between the 209 and 210, I find this one more versatile even though I love them both.

210 Mini Pencil Brush – This does everything the 209 brush can do but even more precise since it’s even smaller. I find that because it covers less surface area, I don’t use it as much, but it’s still a super effective eye shadow brush. It’s a bit flat on one side, which makes it more versatile than other pencil brushes I have since I can use it for super precise placement of pigment as well as for smudging shadow.

211 Detail Blender Brush – This is a really great crease brush. It’s dense enough to lay down color but fluffy enough to blend out that color seamlessly. It’s a great size for precise crease blending for my eye shape because I can avoid getting shadow everywhere and really keep it where I want it. Although the 212 is more effective for me for one and done looks, this brush can do that as well, especially if I want a really subtle wash of color.

212 Medium Blender – I have been loving this brush for one and done shadow looks. The description says “the 212 brush is designed for a one size fits all to use as the first brush to lay your transition shade into the crease, and its rounded tip allows for a soft, airbrushed blending.” It does exactly this and does such a good job at it. I love how fast it makes doing a one shadow look that still looks like I put in effort. This is the eye brush I’ve gotten the most use out of in this extension, but I do love them all.

BK Beauty Brushes Review – 101, 105, 106, 107, 204, 205, A502, and A506

As part of getting to know my collection, I want to spend more time reviewing all the products I have. Next up is everything I own from BK Beauty, which happens to be eight of their brushes.  I wanted to thoroughly test these products to provide a more detailed review of them. I’ve gotten a ton of use out of them so if you have any questions I haven’t addressed, please ask in the comments. As always, thank you so much for being here, and it would mean so much to me if you subscribe here or on Instagram @liftbakelove for new posts! All links are affiliate links, but all opinions are my own, and I bought these myself.

101 Contoured Foundation – This brush is the perfect shape for so many things – foundation, bronzer, blush, highlighter. Because of the angle and the shape, it works so quickly for anything I’m doing. Even though it’s quite large, I still find I can be precise with it with the added bonus of blending super quickly. This is my favorite brush for cream bronzer and blush in particular, and I find myself using it over any other brush I have so much that I honestly want a second one. I also will use the top edge for cream highlighter in a pinch. The density is perfect and doesn’t “eat up” too much product. It’s one of the first brushes I would rebuy now if I lost my collection, and that’s saying so much since I have such a large collection of brushes.

106 Round Foundation – I love using this for cream blush when the 101 is drying from cleaning or if I just haven’t cleaned it yet. It also does work great for foundation if my other foundation brushes are out of rotation for the moment. The size makes it perfect for a more precise application vs the 101 or 107 if I want to be more specific with placement for foundation, blush, bronzer, highlighter, etc. I love how dense it is and quickly is blends products out.

105 Large Buffer – I love how big and fluffy this brush is. It’s one of my favorites for powder bronzer when I really want to look sunkissed and want to put on a lot of bronzer really quickly. I also use it to powder all over if I know I need my makeup to really last so having a dense brush for powder application makes sense. If you’re a person who puts highlighter on your body, this would also be the perfect brush for that. Of all these brushes, it’s the one I use the least but I’m still happy I have it.

107 Flat Blush – I use this the most for foundation even though it’s technically not made for it. I can do a full face of foundation is less than 10 seconds because it blends so well and so quickly. The flatter shape is so helpful to get around the contours of my face and areas like the sides of my nose. It’s kept it shape so well even though I’ve washed it a ton now (like all the brushes), which is great since that’s one of the things that makes this brush so great.

204 Smudge It – This is the most perfect smudger brush, and I’ve been on the hunt for one for years. The shape and density allows you to pick up shadow and use it eyeliner so easily. Because it’s a bit bigger than other similar brushes, you can actually see the liner you’ve applied instead of the tiny brushes that you can barely notice what they did. This is also perfect for smudging out eyeliners or blending them into the other shadows and cream products on the eyes.

205 Contoured Shader – This is my second least used brush of the ones I have. Like all the other brushes, it’s high quality, super soft, and the perfect density to use with eyeshadow. It’s just not a shape I find myself reaching for very often. But if you are a person who wants the perfect brow bone highlight, this is for you.

Angie Hot & Flashy A502 Crease Shader– I love how this is so small and so fluffy at the same time! I honestly can’t count the number of crease brushes I have at this point, but this one is still special. It’s perfect for actually defining the crease (vs moving shadow around). Because it’s small, I can use it for the outer corner, inner corner, under my eyes – basically anywhere I want to place and blend shadow. It’s so soft so it doesn’t scratch, and it’s just a joy to use.

Angie Hot & Flashy A506 Concealer – I know I’ve written about so many concealer brushes at this point, but I think this one is my favorite of all of them. This has really densely packed bristles which I really appreciate for applying products under my eyes. It’s also designed to mimic the shape of your fingertip, and I find that it makes it like I’m blending out with my finger but without losing any coverage. Because of the shape, it’s also super easy to get into harder to reach spots. I’ve been using it every day with my undereye corrector, and it helps so much when I’m attempting to correct my dark circles. It also works great for spot concealing given how precise you can get with it.

Beauty Pie Review: Seamless Foundation Buffing Brush, Pro Angled Contour Cheek Brush, and Pro Angled Concealer Brush

If you haven’t heard of Beauty Pie, it’s described as providing consumers with exceptional formulas sourced from the best factories worldwide – all while keeping costs low by cutting out the middleman, excessive packaging and expensive marketing budgets. It’s basically like the Costco of beauty – you pay a membership fee to access the low prices, but in theory, you save way more than your membership fee. This is part three (see my other reviews here and here), and I know I’ve already saved more than the yearly membership cost (I ended up getting a Black Friday deal where the membership was $9 when all was said and done). As with all of my reviews, this is not sponsored, and there are no affiliate links in this post. And as always, thank you so much for being here, and it would mean so much to me if you subscribe here or on Instagram @liftbakelove for new posts!

Seamless Foundation Buffing Brush – This brush is really densely packed which ensures it maintains the level of coverage of any product I’m using it with. It also never creates any streaks and cleans really well even with consistently using it with liquid products. While this brush is amazing for foundation, I actually love it even more for cream blush. It blends every formula so seamlessly and quickly and is my go-to for when I’ve overdone my blush and need to blend everything together quickly because of its size. This brush is under $10 and feels similar to my much more expensive synthetic brushes. I now totally understand why Kackie Reviews Beauty said in her review that she wanted tons of these in her collection.

Pro Angled Contour Cheek Brush – I’ve been getting way less use out of this one than I expected to. I use the foundation brush more often for cream blush and bronzer and my Sonia G brushes for powder products. I love the shape and the quality of it – it’s probably my favorite angled brush in my collection. It has the perfect density of bristles to apply and blend just the right amount of pigment. I just really never reach for this particular brush shape. If you’re looking for an angled cheek brush, this one is amazing quality for less than $10.

Pro Angled Concealer Brush – This reminds me so much of the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer Brush. It has an extremely similar shape that seems to be designed to mimic the shape of your fingertip. I find that it makes it like I’m blending out with my finger but without losing any coverage because of the densely packed bristles. I switch between this brush and the Rare Beauty one purely depending on which one is clean and/or is still drying from being cleaned. I use them every day with my undereye corrector, and it helps so much when I’m attempting to correct my dark circles. It also works great for spot concealing given how precise you can get with it while still being big enough to blend out edges. I don’t think you really need both this one and the Rare Beauty one, but it’s amazing that this is almost half the price.
