I’m so excited to share my fitness and lifestyle favorites now that it’s August somehow. I spend most of my time outside of work and testing beauty products training for powerlifting competitions (see my last competition recap here) and am very into fitness and health. Since it’s been record-breaking hot this month here, I’ve been getting way more use out of my shorts and am excited to share a bunch of shorts favorites. As always, thank you so much for being here, and it would mean so much to me if you subscribe here or on Instagram @liftbakelove for new posts!

Aoxjox Trinity Shorts – These are obviously supposed to be BuffBunny Legacy Short dupes, and I’ll be honest – they get pretty close. The fabric isn’t quite as soft as nubre but it’s still super soft and comfy. I love that these are 6″ rather than the 4″ Legacy shorts because I’m not always in the mood for 4″ shorts. These are generally less than $25 and come in so many fun colors. They also come in a pocket version that I have on the way and will report back on how it goes!

XO Hew Women’s Sports Crop (gifted) – This is a double lined sports bra that is super long line, so it definitely doubles as a crop top. It’s double lined and has removable padding so it’s incredibly high support. I love how the straps are placed so they don’t into my shoulders and that they are still thick enough to be super comfortable. The material is super lightweight and sweat wicking (I can confirm after a workout recently that I was literally pouring sweat and you’d never know). I can’t wait to see what other women’s apparel A7 comes out with!

Aoxjox Trinity Shorts (medium) and XO Hew Women’s Sports Crop (small)

BuffBunny Flo Shorts V2 – I don’t wear these for workouts but these are my go-to for a lifestyle short. I also have the BuffBunny Lifesaver Shorts but I like these much better. They have an inner short lining that’s super comfy and has 4 pockets (including one with a zipper on the back). These are super comfy and lightweight while still being squat proof even in bright colors. I love wearing them when going on a long walk so I don’t have to bring a bag. There aren’t many in stock right now, but I would keep an eye out for when they come back!

TomTiger Yoga Shorts – More short options! I love how these shorts fit and feel and find myself grabbing them over my more expensive shorts. They are super lightweight and thin which makes them perfect for summer workouts. They come in so many fun colors, and I’ve found them to be generally squat proof (although because the material is so thin, it’s not as squat proof as something like the Aoxjox shorts mentioned above). For $25, these are so worth it.

Oats Overnight – I realized that I wasn’t having a pre-workout snack because I never felt like I had the time to make one, and I was really dragging during my workouts (which can last 2+ hours). Oats Overnight has been absolutely game changing for me. The macros are perfect for a pre-workout snack (most have 22g of protein, 39g of carbs, and 6g of fat) – there’s a solid amount of protein to help me hit my daily target, plenty of carbs for the energy I’ll need, and very minimal fat. I mix it up the night before and have zero work to do when I go to eat it. My favorite flavors so far are Strawberries & Cream, Mixed Berries & Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana, and Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie.

  1. You certainly are a buff bunny yourself!! Well done you! And wow – 2h+ workouts?? I give myself a pat on the back for lasting 20 minutes 😆

Personally I’d love more nutrition bits and bobs. Those oats sound super interesting. Do you add water or milk? Anything else to dress them up (purée, fruits…)?

    1. I add a half cup of non-fat ultra-filtered high protein milk (adds 40 calories and 6.5g of protein). I don’t add anything else because the macros are so good as is but will sometimes also have a bit of fruit like a peach if I feel like I’m super low on carbs before a workout.
