What is mauve? Let’s discuss!

There are so many sale roundup posts this week, and there will be so many more because Black Friday is already happening somehow. So I decided to take a break and do an extremely unserious investigation into mauve! My lovely friend Simply Swatched posted her Makeup by Mario liquid eyeshadow swatches today, including the shade Mauve. I actually really like this shade for everyday, but seeing it reminded me that I wouldn’t actually call it mauve. But what is mauve? Does anyone know? Do these companies know? I decided to gather 20 different products from my collection that either have mauve in the shade name or are officially described as mauve so we could vote and talk about it!

All the swatches are numbered, and you get to vote for which ones you think are mauve. There’s no real rules, and I will reveal the products and shade names next week! As always, swatches are under a ring light to show true to color (photo #1) and then standard lighting to show the formula a little better (#2) for all the products.
